Envelope inspections

Building envelope inspection is an important first step in any kind of building maintenance work, ensuring project is planned efficiently  in a way that it meets all your requirements and budget.

Our technicians are fully trained in all areas of access including IRATA/SPRAT (rope access), fall protection,  elevated and suspended work platforms. This high level of training allows inspections to be conducted to all buildings in timely, cost-effective manner and with minimal disruption to the property and its occupants.

Our client issued reports are fully comprehensive including a photographic record of general building conditions, failures and any safety concerns.

Many properties are feeling the effects of prolonged rainstorms which cause plenty of buildings to leak. Water does not need much of an opportunity to find its way to the building interior.  Tracking down the source of a moisture intrusion or water ingress  in a building can be difficult. We know leaks can leave a building owner, property manager or tenant feeling panicked and helpless.

Fortunately, we are here to help!

Our experienced rope access technicians are ready to identify and repair your building envelope issues.

Sealant renewal

One of the key components of the building envelope is the sealant, which is used to seal joints and gaps in the structure. Over time, sealants can deteriorate due to exposure to the elements and general wear and tear, leading to leaks and other issues. That's why it is essential to have your sealants regularly inspected and renewed to ensure that your building's envelope remains watertight and protected.

At Beckra, we specialize in sealant renewal services, which include the removal of old sealant and the application of new sealant to ensure a proper seal. We use only the highest quality sealants that are designed to withstand the elements and provide long-lasting protection for your building.

Concrete building components are not only an important aesthetic element of your building's exterior but also play a critical role in protecting the structure from water infiltration. Over time, concrete can develop cracks and other issues due to exposure to the elements and general wear and tear. These cracks can weaken the structure and lead to water damage if left unrepaired. That's why it is essential to have your concrete eyebrows and walls regularly inspected and any issues addressed promptly.

During the concrete repair process, our team will first thoroughly inspect the concrete to identify any cracks or issues that need attention. We will then use specialized equipment, to clean and prepare the surface for repair. We use only the highest quality materials and techniques to ensure that the repairs are long-lasting and effective.

Exterior painting

Exterior paint not only enhances the look of a building, but it also plays a critical role in protecting the structure from the elements. Over time, the paint on a building's exterior can deteriorate due to exposure to the sun, rain, and other elements, leading to chalking, fading, and peeling. This not only affects the appearance of the building but also allows moisture to penetrate and cause damage to the structure. During the painting process, our team will first thoroughly prepare the surface by power washing, scraping, sanding, and caulking as needed. We will then apply a coat of primer and multiple coats of paint, as well as use appropriate technique to protect the surrounding areas. We also provide color consultation services to help you choose the right color scheme to match your building's aesthetic, and to enhance its look.

Birds can cause a variety of problems for buildings, such as nesting in eaves and ledges, leaving droppings on sidewalks and even causing structural damage. Bird droppings can also be a serious health hazard as they may contain bacteria and parasites that can cause disease.

We use only the highest quality bird netting materials, which are designed to be durable, long-lasting and almost invisible. We will  design a custom solution, taking into consideration the architecture of the building and the type of birds that are causing problems.

Anchor Inspection

The building owner has a legal obligation to have fall arrest equipment and roof anchors inspected annually. Additionally, every 5 years, a load test is necessary to thoroughly assess the strength and functionality of each anchor.

Ensure the safety and compliance of your building's anchor systems with our comprehensive annual inspection and re-certification services.

Don't let expired certifications slow down your building maintenance work or put your building at risk. Contact us today to schedule your annual anchor inspection or to learn more about our other services.

Flashing is a waterproof barrier at points where different building materials meet. This barrier is designed to prevent water from penetrating the building and causing damage to the interior. Flashing is commonly installed around windows, doors, other building envelope penetrations and roof lines. Whether your building is in need of new flashing or existing flashing needs to be repaired or replaced, our team is ready to provide a comprehensive solution.
